Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a high-risk, Level 3 NICU teaching facility in Virginia, requiring an active VA or Compact RN license and a minimum of one year of L&D experience.

Details

  • High-risk Labor & Delivery unit with 16 labor rooms, 6 triage rooms, 6 antepartum rooms, and 3 ORs
  • Level 3 NICU on-site; teaching facility with resident coverage
  • Cares for all OB patients >20 weeks gestation, including complex cases such as preeclampsia, GDM, PPROM, multiples, fetal anomalies, and maternal/fetal cardiac defects
  • Patient ratio of 1:2 with an average daily census of 15
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
  • Every other weekend required
  • Self-scheduling unit
  • No on-call required
  • Documents in Epic (Stork/OB module) and OBTV
  • Medication management via Omnicell
  • 24/7 in-house anesthesia coverage; OR team handles scheduled and add-on C-sections during the day
  • External cephalic versions performed during daytime hours

Requirements

  • Active VA or Compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
  • Current certifications required: ACLS and NRP
  • Minimum 1 year of L&D nursing experience required
  • Circulating skillset required
  • AWHONN Intermediate certification preferred but not required
  • Driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
  • Any requested Flu or COVID vaccine exemption (religious or medical) must comply with CMS guidelines

  • Scrubs are provided by the facility
  • Epic Stork/OB module training (class) required
  • Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1 – March 31)
  • COVID vaccination or qualified exemption required
  • Smoke- and nicotine-free facility
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Any requested time off must be submitted prior to offer; no RTO will be approved after an offer is made
