Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a MS/Tele position at a cancer hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Mixed acuity unit serving both PCU and MS patients
- Oncology patient population; oncology experience is preferred but not required
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
- Rotating day/night contracts may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination depending on departmental needs; shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Required to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity
- Epic EMR experience required
- Required skills include IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and tracheostomy management
Requirements
- Active Ohio (OH) or Compact RN license required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Proficiency with Epic EMR required
- Experience with IV starts, telemetry, and tracheostomy management required
- Two professional references required: at least 1 must be from a Manager, Director, or Supervisor; a Charge RN is acceptable as the second reference; coworker references are not accepted
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
Additional Information
- Local candidates are accepted
- Former employees of the facility are eligible for a travel assignment after a minimum 6-month separation
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront and is limited to 7 days or fewer for the contract
- Ohio state fingerprinting is required and must be completed promptly after signing a contract; candidates outside Ohio will need to travel to an in-state fingerprinting location or complete a mailed fingerprinting packet upon receipt
- Multiple parking permit options are available for agency staff, purchasable through CampusParc

Units are nice, staff are kind. Single patient rooms with 4:1 ratios day and night on med surg.
Cons
Scheduled every weekend, floated for the first 6 weeks of contract every shift. Not traveler friendly even though they say they are. Staff are treated well not travelers.
