Description

American Traveler is seeking a Radiology Technologist (X-Ray) with at least 1 year of experience for a 13-week acute care assignment at a Level 3 Trauma facility in Garden City, KS.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting within a General Radiology / X-Ray department
• Level 3 Trauma facility
• Department has 2 X-ray rooms, 2 portable units, and 3 C-arms using GE equipment
• PACS system: Synapse Fuji; EMR: Epic
• Estimated 5–20 X-rays per shift with occasional surgical cases
• Coverage areas include outpatient, ER, ICU, floor X-rays, OR, and fluoroscopy (day shift); after 7 PM focus shifts to general ER, ICU, and inpatient X-rays with occasional add-on or late-running surgeries
• Schedule is 5x8-hour day shifts, Monday–Friday, with rotating Sunday night call (30-minute response time required)
• Holiday coverage is required
• Weekend requirements may apply depending on shift

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist
• Current BLS (AHA) certification required
• ARRT (R) certification required — active certifications only; pending certifications are not accepted
• Kansas State Radiologic Technologist (LRT) licensure required — active at time of consideration; pending licenses are not accepted. License required if applicable
• Digital Radiography (DR) skills required
• Some OR experience required
• Experience with fluoroscopy preferred
• Ability to work independently and assist CT technologists with patient transfers
• 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
• A valid driver's license is required for consideration
• Candidates must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates

Additional Information

• Perform general diagnostic X-rays across multiple care settings including ER, ICU, OR, outpatient, and inpatient floors
• Assist CT technologists on shift with patient transfers as needed
• Radiologist is on-site Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 7:30 AM–4:00 PM; after-hours radiology coverage is provided via on-call radiologist
• Orientation is approximately 12 hours; candidates are expected to be on-site in Kansas for the full orientation week, even if initial modules are remote
• No dress code in place for scrubs
• Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates who worked PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
• Travelers in this region are expected to secure housing within the float zone to meet coverage requirements
• A radiation dosimetry badge (rad badge) must be provided by the staffing agency
