Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position in a rural, culturally rich Native American community in Northwestern Arizona, requiring a minimum of 3 years of ER experience and multiple certifications including TNCC and ENPC.

- Emergency Department setting within a JCAHO-accredited regional health center serving the Navajo, Hopi, and Southern Paiute communities across a 4,400 square mile area
- Serves as a referral center for the western portion of the Navajo and Hopi Reservations, with a 73-bed hospital offering comprehensive inpatient and outpatient emergency services
- Flexible scheduling across days, evenings, nights, and weekends
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RN license (AZ or compact state) currently in hand
- Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department nursing experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (all from the American Heart Association)
- Required certifications: TNCC and ENPC
- NRP required within 1 year of hire
- NIHSS completion required within 6 months of hire
- Emergency Severity Index Level 5 triage training required within 3 months of hire
- Patient Sitter Competency Training required upon hire
- SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provides nursing care to patients of all ages and their families, requiring independent clinical judgment and adherence to physician orders, standards of care, and hospital policies
- This facility is located in a very rural area of Northwestern Arizona on the Colorado Plateau, at elevations ranging from 4,400 to nearly 7,000 feet
- Orientation is scheduled on a bi-weekly basis
- COVID and flu vaccine exemptions may be accepted upon submission of a declination form
- Limited housing is available on-site at shared units for $600/month, based on availability — no family members or pets are permitted in housing, and a housing application must be submitted 2 weeks prior to start
- Fingerprinting is required prior to start and is completed during the compliance process via mail
