Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with a minimum of 1 year of experience for a night shift position covering a full-service hospital including ICU, Open Heart, NICU, and Trauma ED units.
Details
- Hospital-based respiratory therapy department operating 24/7 across all floors
- Patient population spans neonates to geriatrics
- Units covered include a 30-bed ICU, 25-bed Open Heart unit, 25-bed NICU, and a 47-bed/5-bay Trauma ED
- Procedures include ventilator management, BiPAP management, medicated aerosol treatments, open heart support, intubation, ABG draws and analysis, CPT, Nitric oxide therapy, and COVID management
- Required experience with Epic EMR, Servo I, GE, Hamilton, and PB840 ventilators
- Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00
- Every other weekend required
- Floating within the facility and within scope of practice as needed
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Active RRT credential required
- Active Georgia (GA) state RT license required; license required if applicable
- Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Experience with Epic, Servo I, GE, Hamilton, and PB840 required
- First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
- Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) are highly preferred for consideration
- Copies of all required certifications needed for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory therapy services across multiple units including ICU, Open Heart, NICU, and Trauma ED
- Scrub color policy: any color is acceptable except all-red or all-navy-blue scrubs
- RTO maximum is 7 days for the assignment; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
- If one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them — no holiday RTO will be approved
- If three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work two; one holiday RTO request may be submitted for approval
- Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
- No special scheduling requests, alternate shifts, or schedule changes are permitted
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
- Travelers must be away from all facilities in this health system for a minimum of one full year before returning as a traveler
