Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Transplant/Progressive Care Unit position in Ohio, requiring a minimum of 2 years of PCU experience and active OH or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Work in a Transplant/Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at an academic medical center in Ohio
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
- Weekday-primary schedule with occasional weekend and rotating holiday requirements
- Patient ratio of approximately 1:5
- IV starts and telemetry monitoring are core clinical skills utilized in this role
- Epic EMR used for documentation
- Floating required within units of equivalent or lower acuity
Requirements
- Active OH or compact RN license required
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of PCU experience required
- 2 professional references required: at least 1 from a Manager, Director, or formal leadership role (e.g., Supervisor); a Charge RN is acceptable as the second reference — no coworker references accepted
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
Additional Information
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
- Former employees are eligible to apply after a minimum 6-month separation from the facility
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at time of consideration and built into the contract, with a maximum of 7 days
- Ohio state fingerprinting is required and must be completed promptly after accepting the position — candidates outside Ohio will need to travel to an in-state fingerprinting location or will be mailed a fingerprinting packet to complete urgently
- Multiple parking permit options are available for agency staff through CampusParc, ranging from on-site garage access to West Campus surface lots with shuttle service to the medical center
