Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) position requiring OH or compact RN license and prior cardiac ICU experience.

Details

• Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) setting within a teaching hospital
• 13-week assignment on night shift (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30)
• 36 hours per week with up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• Rotating holidays required
• Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Patient ratios approximately 1:1-2
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of cardiac ICU experience preferred
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Skills required include IV starts, telemetry, ventilator management, Swan-Ganz and PA line monitoring, conscious sedation, and balloon pump management
• Additional skills such as ECMO care, Impella, IABP, TAVR, LVAD/RVAD, CRRT, and CVP monitoring preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Previous travel experience preferred
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; charge RN acceptable as second reference; coworker references not accepted

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to complex cardiovascular patients including pre/post cardiac surgery and cath/intervention cases
• Support advanced cardiac therapies such as ECMO, IABP, and mechanical circulatory support devices as applicable
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees of Ohio State University hospital locations are ineligible for travel assignments
• RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
• First-time travelers may be considered based on experience level
