Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week Emergency Department travel assignment at a Level III Trauma Center in Oregon, requiring active OR licensure and TNCC certification.
Details
- Emergency Department (ER) position in an acute care hospital setting
- Level III Trauma Center with 21 ED beds, 1 trauma bay, a 4-bed fast track area, and 2 dedicated triage rooms
- Travelers are permitted and expected to perform triage
- General ED patient population with approximately 125 patients seen per day
- Typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 4:1
- Psychiatric/crisis care available with 4 dedicated psych/seclusion rooms plus 2 convertible crisis rooms
- ER holds are managed by ER staff and are intermixed within the main ED
- Telemetry monitoring available on the unit; RNs read their own strips
- ED Techs and RNs perform most blood draws; Imaging staff transport patients for X-ray and CT
- RTs perform ABGs and breathing treatments; RNs and Techs perform EKGs
- EMR system: MEDITECH
- 12-hour night shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
- Every other weekend required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active OR RN license (Standard or Compact/NLC) — must be active at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and TNCC — all must be active; pending certifications not accepted
- PALS or ENPC recommended but not required
- 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked — must include dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
- Copy of driver's license required for consideration
Additional Information
- The facility is willing to request a 90-day emergency OR license if needed
- Orientation is provided before the first shift (12 hours)
- 24/7 coverage includes ED physicians, charge RN, house supervisor, and ED techs; PAs are available 8–16 hours per day
- No floating required
- No on-call or standby requirement
- Holiday coverage required per contract schedule
- Scrubs may be any color except purple
- Candidates may not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year; candidates employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
- Local candidates are accepted for this position
