Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Float Pool Med/Surg Tele position in Goldsboro, NC, requiring at least 2 years of Intermediate/Step-Down experience and comfort with intermediate care patients.
Details
- Float Pool position providing flexible nursing coverage across all inpatient units, including support for inpatients held in the Emergency Department
- Patient population includes intermediate care/step-down level patients across inpatient units
- Key clinical skills include telemetry monitoring, IV/PICC line care, IV insertion, tube care, and port management
- Night shift: 7:00pm – 7:00am, 12-hour shifts
- 4 days per week, 48 hours per week
- Every other weekend (EOW) required
- Every other holiday (EOH) required
- On-call required: 1 shift per pay period if census drops
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RN license in North Carolina or a compact license with NC as the state of practice
- Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
- CPI-A and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Intermediate/Step-Down (IMC/SDU) nursing experience required
- Minimum of 1 year of general nursing experience required
- Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing program required; BSN or MSN preferred
- Must be comfortable managing intermediate care patients
- Two professional references required for consideration
Additional Information
- Coordinates and delivers patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to evaluate and update individualized patient care plans
- Performs bedside point-of-care testing as required by the patient care plan
- Addresses discharge planning needs and consults appropriate resources for complex or high-risk patients
- Incorporates cultural competence and patient/family education into care delivery
- Drug screen must be completed within 24 hours of commitment to the position; allow at least 2 weeks for background check and drug screen results
