Description

American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist with a minimum of 1 year of experience for an Adult Rehab Services unit at an acute care and trauma facility in Oklahoma City, OK.

• Day shift, 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, 40 hours per week
• 13-week contract
• Acute and trauma experience required for this role

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy required
• Minimum 1 year of occupational therapy experience required
• Acute care and trauma setting experience required
• Current Oklahoma OT license required (license required if applicable)
• Current BLS certification from the AHA required
• Travel experience preferred but not required
• Proficiency in organizing and instructing occupational therapy activities
• Ability to interpret physician referrals and prescriptions related to therapy
• Basic computer skills required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

• Plan, evaluate, establish, and implement individual and group treatment activities under physician direction
• Evaluate patients in areas including independent living skills, occupational performance, prevocational work adjustment, educational skills, play-leisure abilities, social skills, and psychosocial skills
• Develop treatment plans with short- and long-term goals, including frequency and duration of treatment
• Design and fabricate adaptive equipment and orthotic devices; provide instruction on joint protection and body mechanics
• Assist with discharge planning including ordering equipment and instructing patients on home therapy programs
• Educate patients and families on goals and progress
• May supervise OT students
• Workers who have previously been placed at this facility may extend once for a maximum of 26 weeks total; a 6-month separation period is required before beginning another contract
• Compliance requirements are strictly enforced — candidates should be prepared to begin onboarding immediately upon commitment
