Description
American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist with a minimum of 1 year of experience for an Adult Rehab Services unit at an acute care and trauma facility in Oklahoma City, OK.
Details
- Adult Rehab Services unit within an acute care and trauma hospital setting
- Day shift, 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, 40 hours per week
- 13-week contract
- Acute and trauma experience required for this role
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy required
- Minimum 1 year of occupational therapy experience required
- Acute care and trauma setting experience required
- Current Oklahoma OT license required (license required if applicable)
- Current BLS certification from the AHA required
- Travel experience preferred but not required
- Proficiency in organizing and instructing occupational therapy activities
- Ability to interpret physician referrals and prescriptions related to therapy
- Basic computer skills required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Additional Information
- Plan, evaluate, establish, and implement individual and group treatment activities under physician direction
- Evaluate patients in areas including independent living skills, occupational performance, prevocational work adjustment, educational skills, play-leisure abilities, social skills, and psychosocial skills
- Develop treatment plans with short- and long-term goals, including frequency and duration of treatment
- Design and fabricate adaptive equipment and orthotic devices; provide instruction on joint protection and body mechanics
- Assist with discharge planning including ordering equipment and instructing patients on home therapy programs
- Educate patients and families on goals and progress
- May supervise OT students
- Workers who have previously been placed at this facility may extend once for a maximum of 26 weeks total; a 6-month separation period is required before beginning another contract
- Compliance requirements are strictly enforced — candidates should be prepared to begin onboarding immediately upon commitment
