Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Oncology/Med-Surg unit with required Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience and oncology-focused patient care responsibilities.
Details
- 24-bed Hematology/Oncology/Gynecologic Oncology and Med-Surg unit, plus a 9-bed Hematology and Cellular Therapy unit
- Patient population includes those diagnosed with lymphoma, leukemia, and ovarian cancers, as well as patients receiving chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and radioisotopes
- Preferred experience with chest tubes and vasoactive/cardiac drips such as Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, and amiodarone
- Preferred experience with lines, tubes, and drains for post-surgical patients, including trachs and laryngectomies
- Preferred experience with telemetry monitoring and complex wound care
- Preferred experience with central line care, maintenance, and blood draws
Requirements
- Active NH or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification required
- Two manager references required for consideration
- Recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 trauma experience within the last 2 years required
Additional Information
- Administer chemotherapy and manage associated side effects for oncology patients
- Care for patients undergoing radiation therapy and radioisotope treatments
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
