Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro Critical Care Unit (NCCU) position requiring advanced hemodynamic monitoring skills and recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma experience.
Details
- Work in a 10-bed Neuro Critical Care Unit (NCCU), the only neuro critical care unit in Northern New England
- Patient population includes Primary Stroke Center cases (ischemic thrombectomy, TPA, hemorrhagic), neurosurgery (tumor resections, brain/spine abscesses), and neuro-medical conditions (meningitis, encephalitis, neuromuscular disorders)
- Floating required to the SICU and other critical care units as needed
- SICU is an 18-bed unit serving surgical, trauma, neuro, plastics, multiple organ failure, and sepsis patients
- Advanced hemodynamic monitoring required, including ICP monitoring, ventilator management, pressors/inotropes/vasoactive medications, PA lines and waveform interpretation
- Experience with ventriculostomies, lumbar drains, bolts, and EVDs required
- Experience with line insertion and maintenance, as well as lines/tubes/drains for post-surgical patients required
- 36 hours per week
Requirements
- Active NH or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma setting
- Recent critical care nursing experience required, including advanced hemodynamic monitoring
- Proficiency with ventriculostomies, lumbar drains, bolts, and EVDs
- Experience managing ventilated patients and administering pressors, inotropes, and vasoactive medications
- Experience with PA lines and waveform interpretation
- Two professional references from managers required for consideration
