Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer for a high-risk OB/GYN outpatient clinic role requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and proficiency with advanced fetal and obstetric scanning protocols.

Details

  • Outpatient high-risk OB/GYN residency clinic setting
  • Daily caseload of 8–10 ultrasound studies performed out of a single room
  • Patient diagnoses include dating scans, BPP, growth, AFI, GYN, pelvic mass, abnormal endometrium, biometry, crown rump length, and pelvic studies
  • Required scanning skills include fetal abdomen, abdominal circumference, bone lengths, cerebellum, ventricles, diaphragm, duodenal atresia/intussusception, fingers/toes, gender, and fetal heart
  • Required OB/GYN skills include 1st–3rd trimester scans, amniotic fluid index, fetal anatomical survey, multiple pregnancy, and placenta previa
  • Preferred skills include Maternal Fetal Medicine, fetal echo, inter/intra-orbital measurements, nuchal translucency screening, umbilical cord Doppler, and amniocentesis
  • Primary ultrasound equipment is GE
  • EMR systems include Epic (required) and Viewpoint
  • 4x10-hour day shifts, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday (Wednesdays off), 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
  • No call, float, or weekend requirements

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant sonography experience required
  • Required certifications: BLS, ARDMS, and ARDMS OB/GYN
  • Preferred certifications: ARDMS-AB, ARDMS-FE, and NT Nuchal Translucency
  • Experience with high-risk OB and obstetrics required
  • Management or lead sonographer experience required
  • Proficiency with Epic EMR required
  • Must be confident working independently as a solo sonographer
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
  • License required if applicable
  • Two professional references from a manager or supervisor within the past 2 years are required (pending at time of consideration is acceptable)

Additional Information

  • Candidate will function as the sole sonographer on-site and must be highly self-sufficient and clinically confident
  • Preferred experience includes portables, general ultrasound procedures, amniocentesis, UA Doppler, and outpatient clinic settings
  • Orientation length is dependent on experience but is typically 40 hours
  • Completion of online modules is required prior to start and annually; hours vary by specialty
  • Royal blue scrubs required; scrubs are not provided
  • Candidates must be available for a manager interview prior to offer
  • Candidates who have previously worked for this health system as permanent, PRN, or EP staff must wait 12 months before being eligible to apply as a traveler; facility rehire approval is required
  • Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved provided it does not fall on a holiday; no RTO is permitted during the first week of assignment due to orientation
  • Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
  • Local candidates are accepted; candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are subject to a local pay rate
  • Travel pairs are allowed, though each traveler must have their own transportation and be comfortable with potentially different schedules
