Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a MS/Tele position at a Level I Trauma, Teaching Hospital in New Mexico, requiring at least 1 year of experience and telemetry skills.
Details
- MS/Tele unit at a 554-bed Level I Trauma Center, Children's Hospital, and academic teaching hospital in New Mexico
- Patient ratio is 1:5 (with possible 1:6); facility regularly operates above 100% capacity
- Floating is expected to other MS/Tele, PCU, lower acuity settings, and the ED (ED ratio 1:5)
- Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
- 36 or 48-hour contract options available
- Two weekends required per 4-week schedule, though this may vary by unit
- No on-call requirement
- Charting system: Cerner
- IV starts and telemetry monitoring are required clinical skills
Requirements
- Active NM or Compact RN license required; NM license may be pending at time of consideration
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) — RQI-format certifications are not accepted
- Minimum 1 year of MS/Tele RN experience required
- Proficiency with IV starts and telemetry monitoring required
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
- 13-week contracts and extensions must be a minimum of 10 weeks
- Travelers who have worked 4 consecutive assignments or reached the 1-year mark at this facility are required to take a 6-month break before returning
- RTO requests exceeding 10 days require facility approval; all time-off requests should be submitted upfront
- COVID vaccination is optional; vaccine status will be reported to the facility
- Black scrubs are required and are not provided by the facility
- No parking fee at this facility
