Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with NICU/PICU experience for a day shift position at a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center, Teaching, and Magnet Hospital.

Details

  • Work in a 70-bed NICU at a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center, Teaching, and Magnet Hospital with 323 total inpatient beds
  • NICU/PICU patient population; pediatric experience strongly preferred
  • Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, 3x12-hour shifts per week
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating within scope; no floating to sister facilities
  • No on-call required
  • Block scheduling is not available
  • Charting via Cerner
  • Contract length up to 26 weeks available upon request during interview; standard contract is 13 weeks

Requirements

  • Active RRT credential required
  • Current DC RRT License required; pending licensure accepted (processing takes approximately 6–8 weeks)
  • Current certifications required: BLS and PALS
  • Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience required; 3+ years of recent experience strongly preferred for first-time travelers
  • NICU or PICU experience preferred; pediatric experience strongly preferred
  • License required if applicable

Additional Information

  • Local candidates are accepted at the travel rate
  • Scrubs must be solid color with no logos; child-friendly attire is required
  • RTO is limited to a maximum of 3 shifts for 13-week contracts and 8 shifts for 26-week contracts
  • If taking a full week (7 consecutive days) off, an additional week must be added to the contract
  • RTO will not be approved during the following blackout periods: August 31–September 6, November 23–29, and December 21–January 3
  • All time-off requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
  • Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration
  • A full 7-year work history with all gaps explained is required for consideration
