Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical ICU (MICU) travel assignment in Ohio, requiring a minimum of 2 years of MICU experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Hospital-based Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) setting
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
- Patient ratios of 1:1–2
- Patient population includes multisystem organ failure, respiratory failure, sepsis, post-cardiac arrest, diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), liver failure, renal failure, and COVID-19
- Specialized procedures include continuous glucose monitoring for hyperglycemia and externalized IV pumps for COVID+ patients
- Equipment used includes NxStage CRRT, Alaris IV pump, GE cardiac monitor, GE ventilator, and boom lift in each patient room
- Epic EMR experience is required
- Telemetry experience is required
Requirements
- Active OH or compact RN license required
- Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 2 years of Medical ICU experience required
- Proficiency in Epic EMR required
- Proficient in IV starts
- Experience with telemetry monitoring
- Competency with ventilator management
- Two professional references required: at least 1 must be from a Manager, Director, or formal leadership role (e.g., Supervisor); a Charge RN is acceptable as the second reference; co-worker references are not accepted
Additional Information
- Local candidates are accepted
- Former employees of the facility are eligible to apply once they have been away for 6 months or more
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application and is limited to 7 days or fewer for the contract period
- Ohio state fingerprinting is required and must be initiated promptly after accepting an offer — candidates outside Ohio may need to travel to an in-state fingerprinting location or will be mailed a fingerprinting packet to complete urgently
- Previous travel nursing experience is preferred
- Parking is available for agency staff through CampusParc with multiple permit options (purchased independently at osu.campusparc.com); options include on-site garage access and off-site lots with shuttle service
