Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a NICU position at a children's hospital, requiring 2 years of Level III/IV NICU experience and an active OH RRT license.

Details

  • Work in the NICU at a teaching children's hospital
  • Neonatal and pediatric critical care patient population
  • 13-week assignment on night shift (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
  • Floating to different units required for most positions depending on assignment needs
  • Utilizes ventilator management equipment including BiPAP, CPAP, and high frequency oscillators
  • Performs neonatal/pediatric procedures including nasal CPAP/BiPAP, oscillating ventilator management, intubation assist, and suctioning
  • Administers medications via various delivery systems including MDI, nebulizer, and Nitric Oxide (iNO)
  • Performs tracheostomy care and management

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience required, with 2 years of Level III/IV NICU experience specifically required
  • Teaching hospital experience required
  • Prior travel experience required
  • Certifications required: BLS, NRP, RRT
  • OH state license required (license required if applicable)
  • Skilled in medication delivery systems, ventilator management, and neonatal/pediatric airway management
  • Experience with sputum specimen collection and tracheostomy care/management
  • 2 professional references required at time of consideration, with at least 1 being from a supervisor or manager

Additional Information

  • Provide respiratory therapy services to critically ill neonatal and pediatric patients in the NICU
  • Work as part of a pediatric critical care and neonatal respiratory team
  • Travelers must be prepared to float to different units depending on assignment needs
  • Candidates must not have worked in a permanent role at this facility within the last 2 years
  • Local candidates within a 60-mile radius are not eligible for this position
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
