Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring strong neuro/spine surgical experience and Level I/II trauma background.
Details
- Work in the Operating Room department of a teaching hospital
- Day shift schedule (4x10 hours, 6:30 AM-5:00 PM)
- 13-week assignment length
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Cerner charting system preferred
- Mandatory floating required, including serving as a Patient Observer/Sitter as needed
- Rotating shifts, weekend, and on-call responsibilities required
- Holiday coverage required for at least 50% of holidays occurring during the contract
Requirements
- Active RN license (Missouri or Compact) required in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Strong neuro/spine surgical experience required
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Trauma Level I and Level II experience required
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Experience with surgical specialties including vascular, neurology, orthopedic, robotics, ENT, and surgical oncology procedures
- Ability to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs
- Scrub role required
Additional Information
- Perform surgical nursing duties across a wide range of procedures including vascular, neurological, orthopedic, robotic, and ENT surgeries
- Position is within a 24/7 healthcare facility requiring flexibility for inclement weather and holiday coverage
- Routine contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates residing within 50 miles are not eligible for this position
- Maximum RTO (requested time off) allowed is 10 days
- Returning travelers do not require re-orientation if returning within 18 months
- Travelers may work up to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts (up to 9 months) before a mandatory 6-month break is required before returning to this health system
