Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 40-bed unit requiring a GA or compact RN license and at least one year of recent Med/Surg experience.

Details

Work on a 40-bed Med-Surg/Ortho unit within the main hospital building
Typical staffing includes 1 clinical nurse coordinator, 7 nurses, 4 PCTs, and 1 unit coordinator per shift
Patient ratio of approximately 1:7
Uses standard medical equipment for a Med-Surg unit
Documentation completed in Meditech
Performs procedures such as EKGs, glucose monitoring, and venipuncture
12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
36 hours per week with rotating weekend requirements
Contract staff are first to float to like units

Requirements

Active GA or compact RN license required
Current BLS certification required
Minimum 1 year of recent Med-Surg nursing experience required
US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
One professional reference required

Additional Information

Provide direct patient care on a busy Med-Surg/Ortho unit handling general medical-surgical cases
Required uniform is a royal blue top and bottom
Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, no local candidates accepted
No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months allowed
First-time travelers may be considered
