Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Open Heart ICU position requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and Epic proficiency, with night shifts on a 13-week contract.
Details
- Open Heart Intensive Care Unit (OHICU) in a hospital setting — a 10-bed ICU
- Patient population includes critically ill and postoperative cardiothoracic, cardiovascular, and general surgery patients ages 18 and older
- Specialized procedures include invasive hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, arrhythmia monitoring and intervention, IABP management, CRRT, VAD management, and ECMO
- Epic EMR experience is required
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Every other weekend (EOW) required
- No on-call requirements
- May float to other ICU floors and med/surg floors as needed
- Holiday coverage required on an as-needed basis
Requirements
- Active PA RN license or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Must be prepared to pass an EKG exam on the first attempt — failure risks contract cancellation
Additional Information
- Candidates will undergo a clinical pre-screen to assess clinical fit before being presented to the hiring manager, who will conduct an interview
- May be assigned to care for COVID-positive patients
- This is a tobacco-free and fragrance-free facility
- Maximum of 7 days of requested time off (RTO) for the duration of the contract
