Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a night shift travel contract requiring 2+ years of ICU experience, ACLS/NIH certifications, and a KY or compact RN license.
Details
- ICU setting within a regional medical center
- Patient ratio of 1:2, though ratios may fluctuate with census
- Meditech EMR in use
- Night shift schedule: 7p–7:30a on a rotating 36/48 schedule (3x12 one week, 4x12 the following week)
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required within scope of practice
- Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated
Requirements
- Active KY or compact RN license required — must be in hand at time of consideration, no exceptions
- Current certifications required: AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 2 years of current ICU experience required
- Valid Driver's License with address matching permanent address required
- Two professional references required: at least one Charge Nurse or higher and one supervisor reference, both completed within the last year
- Middle name required for consideration (or confirmation that no middle name exists)
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted
- Rotating 36/48 schedule is mandatory; inability to accept this schedule may result in cancellation
- Up to 7 days of RTO may be considered, but must be presented upfront — no changes will be accepted after submission
- Must be available to work at least one major or one minor holiday during the assignment
- Travelers who have worked within this health system for one year must take a minimum 6-month break before being eligible to return
- Travel pairs are accepted on a limited basis and will not be placed on the same shift or unit
- Orientation is conducted on a bi-weekly basis
