Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Oregon, requiring ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications with a minimum of two years of experience.
Details
- Emergency Department (ED) setting in a hospital environment
- Wide range of patient acuity, from minor injuries to life-threatening emergencies
- Variable day/evening flex shifts with start times of 0700, 0900, 1100, 1300, or 1500 — block scheduling is not available
- 3x12-hour shifts per week
- Travelers are floated to other departments before core staff when qualified to perform patient care
- Shifts may include nights, weekends, and holidays as the ED operates 24/7
Requirements
- Active Oregon RN license required
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
- Strong clinical skills and critical thinking abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and manage a diverse patient population across varying levels of acuity
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, with frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of objects up to 25 lbs
- Must be capable of continuous walking, standing, and working 12-hour shifts in high-stress environments
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include patient triage, assessment, medication administration, IV therapy, wound care, splinting, and emergency response (rapid response and code blue situations)
- Provides direction and supervision to any personnel assigned under their care
- Accurately documents patient information, treatment plans, and responses to care in the EHR
- Participates in quality improvement efforts and required education for DNV programs as applicable
- If the assignment extends beyond 6 months, CRASE training will be required
- BSN and specialty-specific certifications are preferred but not required
- Work environment includes frequent exposure to infection, contagious disease, hazardous materials, and occasionally combative patients
