Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Oregon, requiring ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications with a minimum of two years of experience.

Details

  • Emergency Department (ED) setting in a hospital environment
  • Wide range of patient acuity, from minor injuries to life-threatening emergencies
  • Variable day/evening flex shifts with start times of 0700, 0900, 1100, 1300, or 1500 — block scheduling is not available
  • 3x12-hour shifts per week
  • Travelers are floated to other departments before core staff when qualified to perform patient care
  • Shifts may include nights, weekends, and holidays as the ED operates 24/7

Requirements

  • Active Oregon RN license required
  • Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
  • Strong clinical skills and critical thinking abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage a diverse patient population across varying levels of acuity
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, with frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of objects up to 25 lbs
  • Must be capable of continuous walking, standing, and working 12-hour shifts in high-stress environments

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include patient triage, assessment, medication administration, IV therapy, wound care, splinting, and emergency response (rapid response and code blue situations)
  • Provides direction and supervision to any personnel assigned under their care
  • Accurately documents patient information, treatment plans, and responses to care in the EHR
  • Participates in quality improvement efforts and required education for DNV programs as applicable
  • If the assignment extends beyond 6 months, CRASE training will be required
  • BSN and specialty-specific certifications are preferred but not required
  • Work environment includes frequent exposure to infection, contagious disease, hazardous materials, and occasionally combative patients
