Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with pediatric critical care experience for a 13-week night shift contract at a hospital in Oklahoma City, OK.

Details

  • Work in a hospital-based Respiratory Care department serving pediatric patients
  • Previous experience in a children's-only hospital is preferred
  • Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
  • 26-week contract structure applies; extensions are limited to one time (total of 26 weeks) unless otherwise agreed upon, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying

Requirements

  • Graduation from an approved Respiratory Care Program
  • Minimum 1 year of respiratory care experience required; 2 years in a critical care setting preferred
  • RRT credential required (or must be obtained within 12 months of hire)
  • Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision
  • Active RN license required if applicable
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
  • ACLS certification from AHA required (must be obtained within 3 months of hire)
  • All certifications must be issued by the American Heart Association
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

  • Administer therapeutic treatments as prescribed by attending medical staff and document patient responses in the electronic medical record
  • Perform invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and monitoring
  • Serve as a resource person to medical staff and provide age-appropriate care across all applicable patient populations
  • Participate as part of the rapid response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests
  • Ensure respiratory equipment is properly cleaned and maintained
  • This facility takes compliance deadlines very seriously — onboarding requirements (drug screens, background checks, medical requirements) must be initiated immediately upon offer acceptance
