Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ED RN for a 12-hour night shift travel assignment in a fast-paced Emergency Room setting, requiring at least one prior completed travel assignment and two years of large ED experience.
Details
- Emergency Room (ER) department in a hospital setting
- 12-hour night shifts, 7:45 PM – 7:15 AM, three days per week (36 hrs/week)
- 13-week assignment
- Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required
- Epic EMR experience preferred but not required; on-site training available
Requirements
- Active RN license in New Mexico or a Compact State currently in hand
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS — BLS, ACLS, and PALS must be issued by the American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
- Minimum two years of recent experience in a large ED required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN or ASN) required
- Must have successfully completed at least one prior 13-week travel assignment
- Strong teamwork skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment required
Additional Information
- Candidates must pass an on-site Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test, administered on the first day of orientation; one retest is permitted, and a second failure will result in contract termination
- Provides direct patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation of patient needs and responses
- Coordinates care in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Administers medications and treatments as prescribed or per standard protocols, with thorough documentation
- Assumes clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel as needed
- Former permanent staff of Presbyterian Health Services must wait one year before being considered as a traveler
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates will not be considered
