Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry night shift position at an academic medical center in Ohio, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- MS/Tele unit within an academic medical center (East Tower, 27-bed Urology unit)
- Patient population includes nephrology, urology (surgical and non-surgical), benign hematology, and general med/surg cases
- Estimated patient ratio of 1:4-5
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend required
- Every other holiday required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating to other units within the health system is required as needed
- Epic EMR experience required
- Responsibilities include administering and managing hazardous medications
Requirements
- Active OH RN license or compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program required
- Current BLS certification required
- Required skills: IV insertion, telemetry monitoring, and intermediate-level cardiac care
- Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Epic EMR experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- 2 professional references required: at least 1 must be from a Manager, Director, or formal leadership role (e.g., Supervisor); Charge RN acceptable as 2nd reference; no coworker references accepted
Additional Information
- Local candidates are accepted at the same bill rate
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted prior to acceptance and will be built into the contract; RTO is limited to 7 days or fewer
- Former employees of this health system are eligible after a 6-month separation period; current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are not eligible
- Ohio state fingerprinting is required and must be completed promptly upon signing the contract — candidates outside Ohio will need to travel to an in-state fingerprinting location or complete a mailed fingerprinting packet; detailed instructions provided by credentialing
- Parking permits are available for purchase through the campus parking system, with multiple options ranging from full medical center garage access to budget surface lot options with shuttle service
