Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a Pennsylvania community hospital, requiring a valid PA or Compact RN license and at least 1 year of nursing experience.

Details

• Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a community hospital setting
• Patient ratios are 1:5 on days, 1:7 on days with LPN, 1:6 on nights, and 1:8 on nights with LPN
• Telemetry monitoring performed on the unit
• 13-week contract
• Day shift available: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
• Night shift available: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
• Charting system experience preferred; any EMR background accepted

Requirements

• Active PA or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• IV therapy and phlebotomy skills required
• Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias required
• Travel nursing experience not required; first-time travelers are welcome to apply
• 1 supervisory reference from within the past year required for consideration
• PA fingerprinting and Childline clearance must be completed in Pennsylvania as part of the credentialing process

Additional Information

• Preferred skills include: accessing/managing ports, blood product administration, central line blood draws, peripheral line care, PICC line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), feeding tube care, continuous bladder irrigation (CBI), pre/post hemodialysis management, CVA care, heparin administration, non-titrated cardiac drip management, and colostomy/ileostomy care
• Candidates must complete fingerprint registration and Childline clearance promptly after signing their contract; detailed instructions are provided by the credentialing team
• Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of signing the contract
• Former permanent or per diem employees of Penn Highlands Healthcare must have been separated for at least 18 months before returning as a traveler; any prior employment with Penn Highlands Healthcare must be disclosed
