Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital in North Carolina, requiring 2 years of MS/Tele experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital setting, Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital with 733 staffed beds
- Med/Surg Telemetry unit with a behavioral health component
- Patient ratio of 1:5-6
- Night shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required within the hospital or to a sister campus depending on assignment
- No on-call requirements
- Epic EMR used; experience required
- Block scheduling is not available
Requirements
- Active NC or compact RN license currently in hand; pending licensure is not accepted
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience required
- Current BLS certification required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Cardiac monitoring skills required, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Must pass an Advanced EKG exam as part of compliance
- SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- 13-week contract
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- RTO is limited to a maximum of 4 days per contract; only 1 holiday can be approved
- Scrub color requirement: royal blue and white
- Completion of pre-start orientation modules (approximately 4–10 hours) is required prior to the start date
- Travelers on night shift may extend up to twice; after reaching the extension limit, a 6-month break is required before reapplying
- Previous travelers must have been away for at least 1 year before returning in a travel capacity
- Background or license history: no hits within the last year will be approved
