Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position in Des Moines, IA, requiring at least 24 months of Cath Lab experience and availability for on-call and weekend rotations.
Details
- Hospital-based Cardiac Cath Lab/EP setting across multiple Des Moines campuses
- 4x10-hour day shifts, Monday–Friday, with one random day off per week (blocked scheduling not guaranteed)
- On-call requirements include 1 night per week and every 3rd weekend (Friday 7:30 PM – Monday 7:00 AM)
- Floating required across all Des Moines campuses to like units
- Uses Epic EMR
- Holiday rotation required — travelers must work 1–2 of the 3 summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day)
Requirements
- Active IA RN license or compact/multistate RN license required
- Current BLS certification from AHA or ARC required
- Current ACLS certification from AHA or ARC required
- Minimum 24 months of Cardiac Cath Lab (CCL) experience required
- Circulating and monitoring experience required
- Structural heart experience highly preferred
- EP experience highly preferred
- Travel nursing experience highly preferred
- Scrubbing experience preferred
- Valid driver's license required for consideration
- One supervisory performance evaluation or professional reference from within the past 24 months preferred for consideration
Additional Information
- Candidates will be expected to scrub, circulate, and monitor as needed
- Precepting of other staff may be required as needed
- Former employees of the health system (FTE or PRN, including float pool) are not eligible if they have worked there within the past 12 months; this policy applies regardless of which facility within the system they worked at
- Candidates who have previously worked travel assignments at this health system (not as FTE or PRN) are not subject to the separation policy
- Local candidates are accepted; candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility should be aware of local traveler policies
