Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position in Des Moines, IA, requiring at least 24 months of cardiac cath experience and comfort with circulating, monitoring, and on-call responsibilities.
Details
- Hospital-based Cardiac Catheterization Lab (CCL) setting in Des Moines, IA
- Day shift schedule, 4x10-hour shifts (7:00 AM–5:00 PM), Monday–Friday with a random day off during the week; blocked scheduling cannot be guaranteed
- On-call requirements include 1 night per week and every 3rd weekend (Friday 7:30 PM through Monday 7:00 AM)
- Assigned cases on rare occasion in addition to the standard call schedule
- Floating required across all Des Moines campuses to like units (campuses are minutes from one another)
- EMR: Epic
Requirements
- Active IA RN license or compact/multistate RN license required
- Current BLS certification from AHA or ARC required
- Current ACLS certification from AHA or ARC required
- Minimum 24 months of Cardiac Cath Lab (CCL) experience required
- Circulating and monitoring experience required
- Structural heart experience highly preferred
- EP (Electrophysiology) experience highly preferred
- Travel nursing experience highly preferred
- Scrubbing experience preferred
- Driver's license required for consideration
- One supervisory performance evaluation or reference from within the past 24 months preferred for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include circulating, monitoring, and scrubbing as needed in the Cath Lab/EP setting
- May be asked to precept staff as needed
- Candidates who have been employed by the facility as an FTE or PRN (including float pool) within the past 12 months are not eligible for this position
- Holiday rotation required; candidates should expect to work 1–2 of the following summer holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day
- Local candidates are welcome to apply; candidates living within 50 miles of the facility should be aware that a reduced travel pay rate may apply
- First-time travelers are not explicitly excluded, though travel experience is highly preferred
