Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Cath Lab RN for a hospital-based cardiac catheterization lab position in Charleston, SC, requiring active ACLS certification and a valid SC or compact RN license.

Details

  • Located in a hospital cardiac catheterization lab setting
  • Monday through Friday schedule, 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM, 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week
  • Call requirements are part of the position and will be discussed with the manager during the interview
  • May be asked to float to cover Cath/EP procedures and occasionally TEE/CV cases
  • TEE/CV coverage, if needed, is limited to intra-procedure support including timeout documentation, procedure tracking, and room circulation
  • Scrub skills are considered a bonus but are not required
  • Charting performed in Cerner

Requirements

  • Active RN license in SC or a current compact/multi-state RN license from an NCSBN compact state (must not be a permanent SC resident)
  • Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Graduate of an accredited school or college of nursing required; BSN highly desired
  • Cath Lab clinical experience required
  • Ability to apply critical thinking and respond effectively in emergency situations

Additional Information

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and communicate findings to the care team
  • Plan, prioritize, and revise patient care to meet expected outcomes, involving patients and families in the process
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary activities and collaborate with physicians to deliver and evaluate patient care
  • Act as a patient advocate and provide care in a non-judgmental manner that respects patient diversity and rights
  • Travelers may float to a nearby sister hospital
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
  • Travelers may remain on assignment for up to one calendar year from the initial start date; a 30–60 day break is required before returning to a new assignment
  • Two professional references are required for consideration

I couldn’t have asked for a better experience for my first travel assignment. American Traveler has made the entire process feel easy from start to finish. Amanda has been awesome throughout my assignment. She checks in regularly with a call or text just to see how things are going and make sure I don’t need anything. That level of support has really stood out to me. I’m rly happy I chose American Traveler for my first assignment, and I wouldn’t hesitate to work with them again.
