Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of experience for a 13-week day shift assignment at an inpatient facility in South Carolina.
Details
- Inpatient respiratory therapy unit with paired step-down and/or floor assignments
- Responsible for an average of 8 ventilated patients per shift in unit assignments
- Floor assignments cover 3-4 floors
- Averages 2-3 intrahospital transports (CT, MRI, Specials) per shift
- Key equipment includes Servo i ventilator, V60 BiPAP, and iStat for ABG analysis
- Day shift: 07:00–19:30
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
- BLS certification required (AHA only)
- ACLS certification required (AHA only)
- License required if applicable
Additional Information
- Deliver direct patient care and respiratory therapy procedures across all areas of the facility
- Responds to Code Blue and Rapid Response alerts in a timely manner
- Applies clinical judgment and assessment skills to monitor patients and communicate findings to the care team
- Evaluates patient care outcomes and makes recommendations as needed
- Participates in respiratory care educational activities and departmental meetings
- Maintains timely and accurate documentation of patient records, charts, and reports
- Specially trained therapists may perform Pulmonary Functions, Methacholine Challenges, Hyperbaric Medicine, NICU care, PICU care, and Asthma Education
