Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit position in an Intermediate Neurosciences & ENT Unit, with ACLS and NIHSS certifications required and a high likelihood of charge and preceptor responsibilities each shift.

Details

  • 18-bed Intermediate Neurosciences & ENT Unit within a hospital setting, including 4 epilepsy monitoring beds
  • Patient population includes stroke, tumors, epilepsy, spine injury, neuromuscular and neurodegenerative conditions, neurotrauma, CNS infections, and ENT malignancies
  • Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hrs/week)
  • Every other weekend (EOW) required
  • Every other holiday (EOH) required
  • No on-call requirements
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Active NC RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
  • Current certifications required: BLS (AHA or ARC), ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
  • Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of nursing required; BSN or MSN preferred
  • Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Candidates should be prepared to serve in a charge nurse or preceptor role on a near-daily basis
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate and deliver patient care using the nursing process
  • Responsibilities include complex patient assessment, care planning, patient and family education, and discharge planning
  • Unit is part of a nationally recognized neurosciences program delivering collaborative, compassionate care
  • A background check and drug screen are required; candidates should be prepared to complete the drug screen within 24 hours of commitment
  • BSN or MSN preferred but not required

I couldn’t have asked for a better experience for my first travel assignment. American Traveler has made the entire process feel easy from start to finish. Amanda has been awesome throughout my assignment. She checks in regularly with a call or text just to see how things are going and make sure I don’t need anything. That level of support has really stood out to me. I’m rly happy I chose American Traveler for my first assignment, and I wouldn’t hesitate to work with them again.
