Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU position requiring at least 1-2 years of ICU experience, ACLS certification, and proficiency with advanced critical care procedures and equipment.

Details

• 24-bed ICU in a hospital setting
• Patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:3
• Primary nursing care model with unit secretary and tech support
• Equipment used includes ventilators, Baxter pumps, EVD, SLED dialysis, and A-lines
• Documentation via Meditech Expanse
• Schedule is 36 hours per week with 3 weekend shifts every 4 weeks
• When floating, the same patient ratio as the assigned unit is maintained
• Procedures performed on the unit include intubation, central line placement, EVD placement, and chest tube placement

Requirements

• Active RN license (VA license or Compact) required
• Current ACLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment)
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required for ICU RNs
• Minimum 1-2 years of recent ICU experience required
• Proficiency with advanced skills including intubation, central line placement, and EVD placement
• Meditech Expanse experience preferred
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Professional references required (1 reference for most states; 2 references for candidates from Florida or Missouri)

Additional Information

• Navy blue scrubs are required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
