Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an ICU position requiring 1-2 years of ICU experience and ACLS certification, with advanced procedural skills including intubation and EVD placement.
Details
- 24-bed ICU in a hospital setting
- Patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:3 with primary nursing model
- Unit is supported by a primary nursing model without dedicated unit secretaries or techs specified
- Equipment used includes ventilators, Baxter pumps, EVDs, SLED dialysis, and arterial lines
- Documentation system: Meditech Expanse
- 36 hours per week with 3 weekend shifts every 4 weeks
- Floating is required; travelers maintain the same patient ratio as the unit floated to
- Procedures performed on the unit include intubation, central line placement, EVD placement, and chest tube placement
Requirements
- Active RN license — VA state license or compact RN license required
- Current ACLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
- Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted)
- Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required for ICU RNs
- 1-2 years of recent ICU experience required
- Advanced skills required: intubation, central line placement, and EVD placement
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- Professional references required (1 reference for most states; 2 references required for Florida and Missouri candidates)
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Navy blue scrubs are required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- This position is within an HCA Far West / Northern CA region facility, requiring at least 2 years of clinical experience in the area of placement
