Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level I Trauma Teaching Hospital, requiring TNCC certification and a minimum of 2 years of ED experience.

Details

• Works in the Emergency Department of a 228-bed Level I Trauma, academic teaching hospital
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM)
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital may be required
• Charting via Cerner Sorian (1st generation); experience preferred
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active DC RN license required
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and TNCC
• PALS preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of ED/ER nursing experience required
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Proficiency in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line care/management, and starting and maintaining IVs
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Triage experience required
• 2 supervisor references required for consideration
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Royal blue scrubs required
• Parking is the traveler's responsibility; street metered parking, paid hospital parking, and public transportation (Metro Green/Yellow line at Shaw/Howard University stop) are all available options
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have been away for at least 1 year to be eligible
