Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with NICU/PICU experience and a minimum of 2 years in a children's hospital setting for a night shift travel assignment at a pediatric hospital in Indiana.
Details
- Position is based in a children's hospital NICU, with home unit assignment to NICU, PICU, or Peds Acute Care determined upon arrival
- Primary placement is in Labor & Delivery (L&D); L&D experience is required
- Patient population includes neonatal and pediatric patients
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
- Every other weekend work is required
- Floating to PICU and Peds Acute Care, as well as to affiliate hospitals nearby, is required
- Cerner EMR; experience required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active Indiana RN or Compact License required if applicable; must be in hand prior to start
- NBRC RRT credential required
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NRP
- PALS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of NICU or PICU experience required
- Children's hospital experience within the last 3 years required; candidates with Level I adult trauma facility experience may be considered
- L&D experience required
- Education must be accredited by CoARC and regionally accredited by CHEA
- 2 supervisor references required for consideration
- SSN and date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Candidates must be comfortable with and aware of the every other weekend requirement prior to submission
- Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional RTO requires facility approval
- Indiana residents are considered local candidates; local Allied travelers are accepted at an in-state rate
- AHA and RQI certifications are accepted and must be current
- NRP may be obtained upon offer for those placed in L&D, as determined by the facility
- Any current or former permanent or PRN employee of IU Health must have a 12-month break before applying as a traveler
- Current or past IU Health travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health are required to take a consecutive break to reset travel eligibility (effective 2/24/26): out-of-state residents require a 90-day break; in-state residents require a 180-day break
