Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Cardiovascular Telemetry Unit position requiring at least 1 year of experience, ACLS, and Cerner Powerchart familiarity.
Details
- 54-bed Cardiovascular Telemetry Unit in a hospital setting
- Primary cardiac telemetry unit where the majority of patients are on continuous cardiac monitoring, with remote telemetry room support as well as close bedside monitoring
- Patient population includes heart failure, STEMI/NSTEMI, stroke requiring cardiac monitoring, cardiac arrhythmias, chest pain, and overflow medical patients as needed
- Cardiac drip management is performed on this unit
- Patient ratios typically range from 1:5–6; ratios may increase up to 1:7 during call-ins
- Charting is done in Cerner Powerchart
- 13-week contract
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (0700–1930)
- Every other weekend required
- Must work 2 out of 3 assigned holidays
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Active Michigan (MI) RN license required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Royal blue scrubs required
- PCTs are in the process of being hired for the unit to help reduce workload during call-ins
- Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed, though managers will make every effort to accommodate scheduling requests
- All time off and scheduling requests should be submitted upfront at the time of consideration
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
