Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) role requiring telemetry experience and OH or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) hospital setting
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM), 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required (Friday and Saturday nights)
• Floating required within OSU facilities
• Epic charting system experience preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license (OH state or compact) required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Previous telemetry experience required
• Experience with IV insulin protocols and insulin drips required
• Strong cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management skills required
• Experience with rapid response/code teams
• Skilled in peripheral IV starts, maintenance, and phlebotomy
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or Supervisor; Charge RN acceptable as second reference; coworker references not accepted

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response care to a step-down/PCU patient population
• Responsibilities include oxygen administration, nasal cannula use, and IV therapy management
• Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols as needed
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply, though candidates with only 1 year of experience are subject to manager review before offer
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• RTO must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Former employees eligible for travel assignments after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees are ineligible for travel assignments at this health system
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
