Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a GI/Endoscopy position at an acute care hospital in West Virginia, requiring a minimum of 2 years of endoscopy experience and knowledge of Epic EMR.
Details
- GI/Endoscopy Lab within an acute care hospital setting
- 5-suite endoscopy lab with a 1:1 RN-to-room ratio
- Common cases include EGD, colonoscopy, ERCP, EUS, EMR, and hemorrhoid banding
- Role functions as an intra-operative circulating nurse (no sedation administered)
- Surgical techs are available in the department
- Standard schedule is Monday–Friday, 7am–3pm, with a number system used to stay and finish cases if needed
- 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week
- On-call requirements approximately 3 weekdays per month to complete cases
- Weekend call approximately 1 weekend per month (Saturday and Sunday, 7am–3pm); frequency may vary based on nursing rotation
- Holiday on-call required, 7am–3pm; call response time is 30 minutes (typically flexible)
- No floating required
- Epic EMR used; experience is a plus but not required
- No on-site orientation hours required
Requirements
- Active WV RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Minimum 2 years of GI/Endoscopy nursing experience required
- Current BLS certification (AHA)
- Knowledge of endoscopy procedures and equipment required
- BSN not required
- Valid driver's license required for consideration
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for this travel position
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include intra-operative circulation nursing in an endoscopy suite setting
- Candidates must interview directly with the unit manager as part of the selection process
- Travelers who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before reapplying
- Travelers may not work within WVU Medicine for more than one cumulative year without a 2-year break
- Scrubs required; facility scrubs are worn on-site
- Two professional references required: one supervisor reference and one peer or additional supervisor reference
- Skills checklist must be completed within the past year
- Candidates may only be submitted to one WVU facility at a time
