Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist with 2+ years of experience and BLS/ACLS certification to support a high-volume invasive cardiac catheterization lab.

Details

• Work in a diagnostic cardiac cath lab and electrophysiology (EP) lab setting
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Average of 25-35 invasive cath procedures performed per day
• Procedures include balloon angioplasty, PCI, stent placement, thrombectomy, Impella insertion, left and right heart catheterization, and rotablator atherectomy
• Additional procedures include CSI atherectomy, IABP, ACIST, OCT, IVUS, Angiojet, radial/ulnar/femoral access, EP ablations and studies, and PV lab procedures such as fistulograms and thrombectomy
• Diagnoses treated include coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease, and cardiac arrhythmias
• Uses EPIC-CUPID and XPER Witt for hemodynamic monitoring
• Uses fluoroscopy and Philips equipment
• 4x10 hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Call required as needed
• Floating required to any Cone Health campus in the event of a COVID surge

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience required
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• RCIS or RCES certification strongly preferred but not required
• License required if applicable
• Community hospital experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Prior travel experience required
• Proficiency in scrub and EKG lead placement
• Experience with venous access, vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose), and vascular studies
• Skilled in equipment setup, prepping access sites, and recognizing life-threatening arrhythmias
• Must be able to pass a Pass/Fail EKG compliance exam with up to two attempts allowed

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include scrubbing and circulating for invasive cardiac and EP procedures, hemodynamic monitoring, and conscious sedation support
• Perform adjunct cardiac intervention therapies and assist with diagnostic and interventional catheterizations
• Support EP lab procedures including device implants, ablations, and EP studies
• Support PV lab procedures including fistula access, lower extremity runoff studies, and pedal access
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, with no local rate option available
