Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position in Arizona, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED experience and active AZ or compact RN license.

Details

  • Emergency Department setting with three distinct areas: an 11-bed Main ED, a 6-bed Fast Track, and a 7-bed Observation Unit
  • Nurses rotate regularly through all ED areas and may also be assigned to Triage, Quick Registration, COVID Tent, and Entry Screening
  • May be assigned to assist with COVID testing and/or immunization clinics as needed
  • Primary shift is 12-hour days (0700–1900), with flexibility required to cover other shifts as staffing needs dictate
  • Schedule typically follows a 7-on/7-off pattern, alternating 36-hour and 48-hour weeks
  • Floating to other departments is expected when qualified, which may include taking a patient load or performing task-oriented duties such as answering call lights or phones
  • 16-week contract

Requirements

  • Active AZ RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent RN experience in the Emergency Department specialty
  • Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, and TNCC
  • Conscious sedation certification required (available through the facility for a $105 fee upon confirmation)

Additional Information

  • This position is open to returning travelers only — first-time travelers will not be considered
  • Nurses can expect to be assigned to a different area at minimum daily and may be rotated mid-shift based on patient volume and unit needs
  • RTO is limited to a maximum of one week per contract
  • Shifts may change during the contract term as the facility adjusts scheduling to accommodate contractor rotations
