Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 3+ years of experience for a night shift position at a Level II trauma center.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting covering ICU, ED, MS, and NICU units
- Level II trauma center with 3 ICUs
- Staffed with 7-10 RTs depending on census
- Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
- EPIC charting experience required
- Floating may be requested based on facility needs
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience required
- Specialty experience within the last year required for all units
- BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA)
- RRT certification preferred
- PALS certification preferred (AHA)
- NRP certification preferred if NICU experience
- Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
- License required if applicable
- VA license required in hand at submittal or proof of compact license
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory care across adult critical care, emergency department, and NICU settings
- Manage ventilators including BiPAP, CPAP, troubleshooting high pressure alarms, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Perform airway management including extubation, nasal/oral airway placement, and suctioning
- Administer medications such as Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, and others as needed
- Perform ABG interpretation and nebulizer treatments
- Care for tracheostomy patients and manage trach collar and oxygen therapy including HFNC
- Prior perm employees must be separated for at least 6 months before being eligible for travel assignment
- RTO should be kept to a minimum, ideally no full calendar week off, with a maximum of 7 total days, and must be submitted and approved prior to confirmation
- Local candidates accepted at the same base rate
