Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Pediatric Med/Surg & Behavioral Health unit, requiring at least 1 year of travel nursing experience and active MO/KS licensure.
Details
- 18-bed pediatric unit providing short-stay acute and transitional care to a diverse pediatric population
- Unit serves two distinct sides to support efficient patient flow, with floating expected between the main Kansas City campus and a sister hospital in Overland Park, KS (approx. 12 miles away)
- Patient population includes post-op appendectomies, tonsil and adenoidectomy patients, viral illnesses, ingestion/medical clearance cases, and pediatric behavioral health patients with underlying medical needs
- Night shift, 7p–7:30a, with schedule options of 3x12s or 4x12s
- Smoke-free and nicotine-free facility
Requirements
- Active RN license in Missouri (or compact equivalent) and Kansas required; Kansas license may be pending at start but must have documented proof of application
- Current AHA certifications required: BLS and PALS — RQI certifications are not accepted
- Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required
- Medical/surgical and behavioral health or psychiatric nursing experience required
- Pediatric experience preferred
- Two professional references from a supervisor level or higher, completed within the last 12 months, required for consideration
- Date of birth and Social Security number required for consideration
Additional Information
- Nurses deliver care across a wide range of acute and transitional pediatric conditions, including post-surgical recovery, medical clearance cases, and behavioral health needs with co-occurring medical diagnoses
- Mandatory medication/dosage testing administered during the first week — a score of 100% is required to pass, with up to 3 attempts allowed
- The facility tests for nicotine use
- Local candidates are welcome to apply at the same rate
