Description

American Traveler is seeking a NICU Respiratory Therapist with at least 2 years of Level III NICU experience for a 13-week day shift contract at a Level II Trauma Center in Montgomery, AL.

Details

• 492-bed Level II Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center with a Level III NICU
• Respiratory Therapy unit serving NICU and adult patient populations
• NICU RT responsibilities include ground transports and nitric oxide administration
• Ventilators in use: PB 840, PB 980, Drager VN500, LTV, and Airvo; oscillator 3100A also in use
• Monitors: Spacelabs; medication dispensing via Omnicell
• EMR: Cerner (experience required)
• 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend rotation
• Voluntary call available
• NICU therapists will also float to adult units as needed

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Level III NICU required
• RRT credential preferred; CRT with at least 2 years of experience will be considered
• Cerner or Epic EMR experience required for first-time travelers
• Required certifications: BLS and NRP; ACLS and APLS preferred
• Must be able to work independently in a Level III NICU setting
• Transport experience preferred; nitric oxide administration experience required
• AL license required if applicable
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible
• One charge-level or above reference from the past 12 months required for consideration
• DOB (day and month) and full SSN required for consideration
• Copies of certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will be considered with at least 2 years of experience and Cerner or Epic EMR experience
• Travelers with less than 1 year of experience will not be considered
• Former permanent staff must wait 6 months before being considered as a traveler
• New travelers to the facility (or those returning after 1+ year absence) complete 24 hours of classroom orientation followed by 24 hours of on-unit orientation; orientation for rehires varies based on time away
• Interviews are required; this facility does not utilize auto offers
• One major and one minor seasonal holiday coverage expected per facility policy
• Scrubs: Navy Blue
