Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Cath Lab RN for a 13-week travel contract at an acute care, Level I trauma, Magnet-designated hospital in Springfield, IL, with required interventional cardiac cath lab experience and on-call availability.

Details

• Work in a 5-room Cardiac Cath Lab unit within a 562-bed acute care, Level I trauma, Magnet-designated hospital
• Average daily census of 25 patients
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Required to work 2–3 weekends per contract
• On-call required as needed
• Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital is required for all travelers
• Charting performed in Cerner
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Free parking available with a permit obtained during orientation

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI AHA cards not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab RN experience required
• Interventional cardiac cath lab experience required
• Proficiency in the following procedures: circulating procedures, diagnostic adult catheterizations, left heart catheterization, right heart catheterization, and pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring
• Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring required
• Skills in dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

• Local candidates are accepted for this position
• Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays falling within the contract period
• RTO of up to 5 days is generally accommodable; requests exceeding 5 days require facility approval
• Schedule requests may be discussed with the manager
• Any permanent or PRN employee of the facility's hospital system must have been separated for at least 12 months before being eligible to apply as a traveler
• Travel pairs are not accepted at this facility
