Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Cath Lab RN for a 13-week travel contract at an acute care, Level I trauma, Magnet-designated hospital in Springfield, IL, with required interventional cardiac cath lab experience and on-call availability.
Details
- Work in a 5-room Cardiac Cath Lab unit within a 562-bed acute care, Level I trauma, Magnet-designated hospital
- Average daily census of 25 patients
- Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Required to work 2–3 weekends per contract
- On-call required as needed
- Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital is required for all travelers
- Charting performed in Cerner
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Free parking available with a permit obtained during orientation
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI AHA cards not accepted)
- Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab RN experience required
- Interventional cardiac cath lab experience required
- Proficiency in the following procedures: circulating procedures, diagnostic adult catheterizations, left heart catheterization, right heart catheterization, and pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring
- Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring required
- Skills in dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
- Cerner EMR experience required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration

- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted for this position
- Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays falling within the contract period
- RTO of up to 5 days is generally accommodable; requests exceeding 5 days require facility approval
- Schedule requests may be discussed with the manager
- Any permanent or PRN employee of the facility's hospital system must have been separated for at least 12 months before being eligible to apply as a traveler
- Travel pairs are not accepted at this facility
