Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring at least 1 year of experience and Epic proficiency, working 12-hour night shifts.
Details
- Acute care Med/Surg unit (6E) at a Level I Trauma Center
- Patient population includes general Med/Surg and oncology overflow, as well as post-OR recovery patients
- Patient ratio is 1:5
- Respiratory equipment used on the floor includes nasal cannula
- Epic EMR is used in this position
- 12-hour night shifts
- Floating within scope required as needed
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active NE or Compact (NLC) RN license — must be active at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted
- Active BLS certification required; pending certifications not accepted
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience required
- Specific oncology experience is not required
- Driver's license required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must permanently reside at least 50 miles from the facility; driver's license is used to verify permanent address
- Candidates may not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year — candidates who worked PRN through outside firms will be considered
- A pass/fail open-book exam on skills learned during orientation is administered on the first Friday of orientation; a score of 90% or higher is required to pass
- Two professional references are required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked — both must include dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
- Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; refusal to remove them will result to contract termination
- Orientation is 12 hours
