Description

American Traveler is hiring a night shift RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring an AL or compact RN license and 2 years of experience.

Details

  • Work in an 8-bed high acuity Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU)
  • Care for adult cardiac patients transferred from the Cath Lab, ED, and Acute Care areas
  • Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Work 36 or 48 hours per week
  • Every other weekend required
  • Holiday coverage required as scheduled
  • Float to other units and hospitals as needed
  • EMR: Meditech

Requirements

  • Active RN license for the State of Alabama or compact license required (no temporary licenses accepted)
  • Nursys verification required
  • Associate degree in nursing required
  • Current certifications required: AHA ACLS, AHA BLS, and AHA NIH (or Red Cross equivalents)
  • PALS preferred if working in a pediatric unit
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required (18 months considered if working under the highest level of professional license)
  • 1 year of recent experience in cardiac specialty required

Additional Information

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes in a high acuity cardiac setting
  • Deliver specialized, complex monitoring and treatment for adult cardiac patients
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and comfortable environment for patients
  • Dress code: solid navy scrubs
  • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no mileage restrictions
  • On-site cardiac competency exam required in addition to an online pre-test prior to starting
