Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience and MO or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Med/Surg unit with 30 beds in a hospital setting
- Patient ratios of approximately 1:6-7
- Patient population includes GI, GU, wound care, acute withdrawal, altered mental status, dialysis/ESRD, and minor surgical cases
- Equipment used includes Alaris IV pumps, Kangaroo enteral feeding pumps, wound vacs, SCD machines, PCA pumps, low air loss mattresses, and remote telemetry monitors
- Uses EPIC EMR
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- May float to other units depending on staffing needs
Requirements
- Active RN license eligible for licensure in Missouri or currently licensed in Missouri
- BLS certification from AHA required
- ACLS certification from AHA preferred
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg inpatient experience required
- No gaps in employment of 90+ days within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Provides direct patient care across all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Coordinates patient care with ancillary departments to optimize comfort and outcomes
- Maintains professional accountability and patient confidentiality in accordance with facility standards
- Flu vaccination or facility-approved exemption required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1, with no declinations accepted
- Black scrub color required; leggings and other non-conforming attire not accepted
- RTO of up to 5 days allowed but must be made up during the assignment
- Only 1 holiday RTO request permitted per assignment
- Level 2 Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Level 1 STEMI Center designation
- Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are considered local and subject to local pay and contract rules
- Local contract staff are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before requiring a 1-year separation or transfer outside the radius
