Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical/Telemetry night shift position requiring NV RN license and a minimum of 2 years of telemetry experience.
Details
- Work in the Medical and Telemetry unit of a Level II Trauma Center hospital
- Patient population includes CHF, alcohol withdrawal, NSTEMI, sepsis, dysrhythmias, PNA, COPD, and COVID cases
- Care for post-procedure patients including pacemakers, ablations, cath lab, and downgraded OHS/ICU patients
- Administers non-titratable cardiac medication drips such as Cardizem, Lasix, and Nitro
- 3x12 night shift schedule with 36 guaranteed weekly hours
- No on-call requirements
- May float to ICU, medical-surgical units, or Renown Regional based on competency level
- Uses EPIC EMR system with training available during orientation or option to test out
Requirements
- Active NV RN license required prior to start
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications required)
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience required
- Must pass a telemetry competency exam including rhythm strip identification and measurement
Additional Information
- Provide individualized nursing care across the full episode of care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
- Coordinate care with other professionals and involve family/caregivers in assessment and care planning as appropriate
- Work in a fast-paced Level I trauma-equivalent volume environment serving a 500-mile radius
- Facility is a Level II Trauma Center with Stroke accreditation and 800 in-patient beds
- May be required to float to other units based on organizational needs and competency level
- Required to work major holidays, with a minimum of 2 major holidays required per contract
- May be required to pick up one additional shift during the schedule period
- Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and occasional call shifts
- Facility may cancel shifts with 48 hours notice for low census without penalty
- Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be considered
- Returning travelers must have a 13-week break after ending a previous contract before reapplying
- Blocked scheduling is not permitted
- Any requested RTO must be submitted at the time of application
