Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Surgical/Intermediate Care Unit (SCU/IMC) night shift position requiring 5 years of experience and ME or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Work in the SCU/IMC unit of a hospital setting
- 8-bed unit caring for SCU/IMC/MS patients with occasional Swing cases
- Patient ratios ranging from 1:1 to 4:1
- Utilizes ventilators, ceiling lifts, Plumb pumps, feeding tubes, chest tubes, and SCD boots
- EPIC EMR system used
- Night shift schedule (6p-6a or 5:45 PM-6:15 AM)
- Every other weekend minimum required
- Occasional floating to Med-Surg (MS) required, within a 25-mile float policy between facilities
- No call requirements for core hours
Requirements
- Active RN license (ME or Compact) required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA certification must be completed prior to start if submitted with non-AHA equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years of RN experience required
- ICU/SCU experience preferred
- Experience with vasoactive drips and ventilators required
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Valid driver's license required for consideration
- 2 professional references required
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care to SCU/IMC patients including management of ventilators and vasoactive drips
- Team environment values down-to-earth, proactive, team-oriented individuals with high standards
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Air pods, laptops, and cell phone usage prohibited on the unit
- RTO should be kept to a minimum, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for a 13-week contract at manager's discretion
- Local candidates within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility are eligible but not eligible for renewals or extensions
- Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months must disclose this information
