Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Level II NICU night shift position requiring a NJ or Compact RN license and prior travel experience.

Details

• Level II NICU setting
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• May be required to float to Baby Nurse as needed
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Certifications: BLS and NRP or NRP Advanced required; STABLE certification preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, and administration of blood/blood products
• Experience with UAC/UVC lines and neonatal dosage calculations
• Competency in ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP) and respiratory care including HFNC and Bubble CPAP
• Experience caring for neonates across gestational ranges including <24-28 weeks, 29-34 weeks, and >34 weeks
• Skilled in APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, and neonatal sepsis workups

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include attending high-risk deliveries and providing developmental care
• Provides patient and family teaching, including breastfeeding support and handling of breast milk
• Manages feedings via bottle, breast, and gavage as well as oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tube placement
• Performs phototherapy and blood glucose monitoring for endocrine/metabolic care
• Assists with procedures such as lumbar punctures and manages neonatal abstinence syndrome and seizure disorders
• Travel pairs or groups will not be considered for this position
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• Former staff members must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
